GARRETT'S STORY

I’m running for Knox County Commission for one simple reason: to deliver real results for the people who trust their local leaders to show up and do the work.
Who serves our community at the local level matters. Local government shapes the things we experience every day—from the roads we drive on and the schools our children attend, to the businesses we visit and the first responders who answer the phone when someone calls 911.
Public service at the local level may not always get the spotlight, but it is some of the most important work there is. I’m running to give back to the community that helped shape me and to help ensure Knox County continues to be a place where families and businesses can thrive.
My passion for public service began at a young age. By the time I graduated from West High School, I had served as president of four organizations, state president of Key Club, chair of a national service-learning grant board, and valedictorian of my graduating class.
I went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville with degrees in Accounting and International Business. I began my career in public accounting before transitioning into healthcare, where I spent several years working in healthcare sales. Along the way, I also built and operate a real estate investment business here in Knoxville.
In 2025, I made the decision to pursue a longtime calling in medicine and am now attending medical school at Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine here in Knoxville.
Community involvement has always been important to me. I was a candidate for Knoxville City Council in 2021 and for Knox County Commission in 2024. Today, I serve as Treasurer of the Knoxville Public Building Authority, as a board member for Family Promise of Knoxville, and as a member of Nucleus. I previously served on the Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals and the UT Young Alumni Council. When I’m not working, studying, or volunteering, I enjoy traveling, cooking, weightlifting, and spending time with friends and family.
