GARRETT'S STORY

My passion for public service began at a young age through my involvement in various clubs and service activities in high school and college. By the time I had graduated from West High School, I had been president of four organizations, state president of Key Club, the chair of a national service-learning grant board, and valedictorian of my graduating class. I saw myself running for office one day as a way to give back to the community that had given so much to me.
I went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville with my degree in accounting and international business. I started my career working in public accounting, but spent the majority of my career as in healthcare sales. I also own an operate small real estate investment business. In 2025, I made the decision to shift careers and now attend medical school at Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine here in Knoxville.
I try to stay very involved in the Knoxville community. I was a candidate for Knoxville City Council in 2021 and 4th district Knox County Commission in 2024. Currently, I serve as the treasurer for the Knoxville Public Building Authority and a board member for Family Promise of Knoxville. I am a former member of the Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals and UT Young Alumni Council. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, weightlifting, and spending time with my friends and family. Fun fact- I am a massive fan of anything superhero related (especially Marvel) and was also the 2023 NPC Knox Classic Mr. Knoxville winner.
